AccorHotels opened 12 new hotels in 2017
AccorHotels currently has more than 100 hotels in the MENA region

Dubai – Mubasher: AccorHotels announced on Monday that it has inaugurated 12 hotels so far this year, according to press release.

The company’s hotels portfolio in MENA region has now surpassed more than 100 hotels.

As per the statement, the new twelve hotels number of rooms exceeded 4,500.

“The number of hotel openings this year exceeds the number of hotels opened by the Group in all of 2016, and has already established 2017 as a year of record growth,” the statement noted.

AccorHotels also aims at raising the establishments and reach 50,000 rooms in the region by 2020.

The group has already reached 30,000 rooms until 2017.

“Today, I am pleased to announce that with strong teamwork, we were able to achieve this milestone in record time,” said Olivier Granet, the managing director and the COO of the group of the MENA region.

“We continue to build great momentum with the acquisition of Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel,” Granet added.

The Group has also signed an agreement of the largest Sofitel in MENA region with Sofitel Dubai Wafi, and inaugurated the largest international Mercure hotel that with 1,019 rooms and apartments in the UAE.

AccorHotels is the largest hotel operator in the Saudi Arabia as it owns hotels including more than 9,500 operating rooms, and the portfolio in the Kingdom will grow to reach over 60 hotels, the statement noted.

The company’s MENA current portfolio includes ten countries namely: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, Iran, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain, the statement further added.
