Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Statoil is in discussions with Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) to join offshore production in Abu Dhabi, according to a Norwegian diplomatic dispatch published by Bloomberg.

The Norwegian embassy confirmed in a statement issued last August that the international oil companies, including Statoil, are interested in cooperating with ADNOC in the offshore oil sector.

Advanced discussions with potential partners for an offshore oil concession, which will expire in March 2018, will be split into several parts under new terms.

The existing offshore concession is being operated by the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Co. (ADMA-OPCO), in which ADNOC owns 60% stake.
