Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of trade and industry Tarek Kabil on Tuesday said that the period of applying the anti-dumping duty on Chinese, Turkish, and Ukrainian rebar imports has been extended for two months to end in December.
Anti-dumping charges on Chinese imports amount to 17% of cost insurance and freight (CIF), Kabil highlighted in a statement by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Meanwhile, charges on Turkish and Ukrainian imports range from 10% to 19% and from 15% to 27% of CIF, respectively.
The decision was extended after local producers complained that they were suffering from significant rebar imports from these three countries.
Procedures pertaining to rebar import dumping began in August.
