Cairo – Mubasher: The chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Mohab Mamish said that the SCZone's tunnels will be completed in June 2018, in coordination with the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

During his meeting with UK trade envoy to Egypt Jeffrey Donaldson and the British ambassador in Cairo John Casson, Mamish said that these tunnels will fully support the project and secure the Suez Canal, which will ease the development process.

The SCZone has been divided geographically into northern and southern zones and ports of both zones are currently being developed, he highlighted.

He noted that the Russian zone will be established on an area of five to ten square kilometres in accordance with an agreement with Russia.

Mamish also referred to the SCA’s joint venture agreement with DP World to develop an area of 95 square kilometres in Ain Sokhna.

By the end of the meeting, Donaldson invited Mamish to visit London to present the available opportunities and investment incentives in the SCZone for a gathering of British firms and businessmen.
