TASI falls below 7,000 pts Sunday; Nomu extends gains
Traded volume fell to 122.8 million shares on Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark index resumed its losses on Sunday, falling below the 7,000-point mark.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell 0.52% or 36.2 points to close at 6,975.06 points. Turnover amounted to SAR 2.16 billion ($576 million), down from SAR 2.76 billion ($736.53 million) on Thursday.

Similarly, traded volume fell to 122.8 million shares on Sunday from 156.67 million in the previous session.

Most of TASI’s sectors ended Sunday on a low note, led by commercial and professional services with 1.64%, while the banking and telecommunications sectors lost 0.62% each, and materials shed 0.38%.

Only three of TASI’s sectors ended Sunday up, led by food staples and retailing with 0.84%.

A total of 122 stocks ended Sunday down, led by Salama Cooperative Insurance, which fell 3.89% to SAR 24.96. On the other hand, 46 stocks ended the session at a rise, led by Chubb, which surged 9.88% to SAR 28.70.

Meanwhile, the NOMU parallel market index ended the session in the green, its second in a row, adding 1.3% or 39.24 points to 3,056.69 points.

All of NOMU’s stocks ended in the green territory with the exception of Raydan which remained unchanged at 17.48.

Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries led NOMU’s risers, adding 3.54% to SAR 55.60, followed by Arab Sea, which gained 2.92% to SAR 11.98.
