Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract over 200 participants

Dubai – Mubasher: Expo 2020 Dubai Office on Wednesday announced that 29 countries signed official participation contracts at the International Participants Meeting (IPM) of Expo 2020 Dubai.

More 150 countries confirmed their intent to participate in the international event through letters sent to UAE’s vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Expo 2020 Dubai Office stated.

“I am delighted that our 2020 World Expo family has grown, with 15 additional countries publicly announcing their participation,” said Reem Al Hashimy, UAE’s state minister for international cooperation and Dubai Expo 2020 bureau director general.

“In a world where all too often we focus on differences, this feels to me like a powerful statement of the importance of cooperation and collaboration,” the top official added.

The signatories of the official participation contracts at the IPM include Bahrain, Belarus, Czech Republic, Kuwait, Liberia, Oman, Senegal, Switzerland, and Yemen, in addition to Luxembourg, which is the first country to sign earlier on October.

Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract over 200 participants, including countries, multilateral organisations, corporations and educational institutions and will run for six months as of 20 October 2020.
