Riyadh – Mubasher: Etihad Etisalat Co. “Mobily” on Tuesday announced signing an agreement with Ericsson to upgrade, expand, and develop its networks in the kingdom’s western region.

Under the deal, Ericsson will expand Mobily’s network coverage and technological capabilities including GSM/WCDMA/LTE (FDD/TDD), which will enable the Saudi company to offer distinguished services to its subscribers.

The deal also entails an internet protocol (IP) enhancement using Minilink waves from Ericsson, according to a statement.

Reaching the final version of this deal has taken more than six months, Mobily’s CEO Ahmed Abou Doma said, noting that this long period was taken to ensure that the deal was in line with the ICT sector’s continuous and fast-growing pace.
