Cairo - Mubasher: Ashraf Shiha, managing director of Al Tayyar Travel Group in Egypt, said in a phone call with Lamis Elhadidi’s show on CBC that his company’s investments will not be affected by investigations with the mother company’s chairman Nasser bin Aqeel Al Tayyar.
Al Tayyar Group’s operations and services will continue uninterrupted in Egypt, he stressed.
Aqeel is a non-executive member in Al Tayyar Group and owns 29.72% in direct and indirect stakes in the company, Shiha added.
On Monday, Al Tayyar confirmed its commitment to providing services for its clients and shareholders, affirming that it was completely bound by the relevant rules and regulations.
Al Tayyar added that Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Khalil, board chairman, had received support from the Saudi government for the company.
Also on Monday, Saudi authorities widened their arrests, which had originally begun on Saturday and involved a number of princes and ministers, including Nasser bin Aqeel, after accusing them of corruption.
