Deposits at Kuwaiti private banks rise 2.4% in September
Month-on-month, the private sector banks’ deposits grew 1.04%

Mubasher: Deposits at private sector banks in Kuwait rose in September by 2.4% year-on-year to KWD 34.95 billion from KWD 34.13 billion, data released by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) showed Thursday.

Month-on-month, the private sector banks’ deposits grew 1.04% from KWD 34.59 billion in August.

Meanwhile, deposits by banks from the public sector increased 3.4% year-on-year to KWD 7.05 billion in September from KWD 6.82 billion, the data showed.

Month-on-month, however, public sector banks’ deposits fell 0.7% to KWD 7.10 billion.

Non-residents’ deposits amounted to KWD 4.07 billion in September, registering an increase of 6.9% from KWD 3.90 billion in August.

Local banks’ assets amounted to KWD 63.13 billion in September, up 0.5% month-on-month from KWD 62.79 billion, previous data by the CBK showed.
