Dubai - Mubasher: Kuwait-based Wataniya Airways on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus to buy 25 Airbus A320neo family aircraft at a total value of $2.7 billion.

Ali Al Fouzan, board chairman of Wataniya Airways, said in a press conference on the sidelines of Dubai Airshow that the company aims to bolster its fleet and improve its efficiency, which will result in advancing its expansion plans.

Al Fouzan added that deal was signed through “Golden Falcon Aviation ”, which is the exclusive supplier of the airplanes for the Kuwaiti airline.

The new jets are 15% more fuel efficient than other airplanes, the top official highlighted.

Meanwhile, Airbus chief operating officer John Leahy affirmed that these jets were the best choice for both the company and passengers because of its operating efficiency.
