Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia raised its ownership of US bonds and treasury bills (T-bills) by 52.9%, reaching $136.7 billion during September 2017, compared to $89.4 billion in September 2016, the US Department of the Treasury’s data said.

On a monthly basis, the Kingdom’s ownership of the US bonds and T-bills inched down 0.87% to $136.7 billion in September, from $137.9 billion, the US’s body added.

China ranked first in the ownership of US T-bills and bonds with $1.18 trillion, followed by Japan with $1.096 trillion.

At the level of Arab countries regarding ownership of US’ bonds and T-bills in September, Saudi Arabia ranked first, followed by the UAE with $54.3 billion, and Kuwait with $38 billion.
