Auto sales in Eurozone go up 6% in October
Passenger cars’ sales in Euro zone grew 5.9% year-on-year to reach 1.2 million cars in October

Mubasher: Passenger car sales in the Eurozone grew 5.9% year-on-year to reach 1.2 million cars in October, whereas it registered a 2% decrease in September.

The increase was attributed to sales’ rise in Spain, France, and Italy, according to European Automobile Manufacturers Association’s data on Thursday.

At the level of the first ten months of 2017, passenger car sales rose 3.9%, reaching 12.8 million cars.

In October, car sales in Spain and France surged 13.7% and went up 7.1% in Italy.

On the other hand, auto sales retreated 12.2% in the UK.

“Demand for passenger cars in the new EU member states grew by 20.1% last month, making a significant contribution to the solid performance of the EU market,” according to the association’s statement.

Japan-based, Toyota’s sales jumped 20.5%, followed by France-based, Renault sales with 17.7%, and Germany-based, Daimler AG with 6.5%.
