Millennials embrace globalisation; strive for shaping future - Survey

Dubai – Mubasher: Western Union revealed a new research showed that millennials across 15 countries believe in globalisation, aspire to utilise the opportunities it provides freely, and desire to shape the future by technology.  

With over 10,000 participants, 500 of which were in the UAE, the survey showed that millennials have faith in globalisation’s role in making the world a better place, according to Western Union.

The study’s participants were native, first-generation and foreign-born people, whose ages ranged between 20 to 36 years, and was conducted in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Germany, the UAE, the US and India, The company revealed.

“The world is changing and there is a new economic power shift driven by a new generation of global citizens. They are shaping the future, and inspiring others to do the same,” said Hikmet Ersek Western Union’s president and CEO.

“More than one in three millennials in the UAE identify creating global citizenship as a shared responsibility,” Hatem Sleiman, Western Union’s regional vice president for the Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan, commented.
