Dubai - Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that it has awarded Etihad Energy Services Company the development and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to be installed at its water reservoirs.
The installation of solar PV systems on DEWA’s water reservoirs will reduce the Emirate’s carbon footprint and increase the proportion of solar power in Dubai's energy mix, according to a statement issued on Saturday.
The company stated that the total installed capacity of solar PV systems on water reservoirs could reach up to 60 megawatt peak.
The project will roll out in phases, starting from the fourth quarter of 2017, the statement noted.
