Manama leads world's best cities for expats - Survey
About 63% of the expats in Manama feel good about their job security

Mubasher: The Bahraini capital Manama topped the list of world’s best cities for expats, followed by Prague, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, and Amsterdam in the Expat Insider 2017 survey.

As for the rest of the Gulf cities in the list, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai came twelfth, fifteenth, and seventeenth, respectively, according to the survey.

Meanwhile, Doha, Riyadh, and Jeddah ranked forty-fifth, forty-eighth, and fiftieth, respectively, as these cities were considered “significantly less popular with their expat residents,” the survey showed.

The rankings are carried out based on various factors, including the quality of urban living, urban work life, finance, and housing, InterNations, the conductor of the survey, revealed.

Based on urban work life, most of Gulf cities came at the bottom of the list, including Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, and Jeddah, while Bahrain ranked twelfth in a list that incorporated 51 cities worldwide, the survey’s data showed.

About 63% of expats in Manama feel good about their job security, while 55% said the same for Abu Dhabi, 37% for Jeddah, and 39% cited good job security in both Muscat and Dubai, InterNations stated.

Expat Insider 2017 represents one of the most extensive expat studies in the world with around 13,000 respondents living and working abroad.
