Sadara Basic Services Company announces the Resignation and Appointment of two Board Members for its parent company, Sadara Chemical Company

Sadara Basic Services Company announces that the Board Member Dr.Faisal Al-Faqeer (Non-Executive) has submitted his resignation from his position to the Board of Directors on 30-09-2017, and the Board of Directors on 16-11-2017 has accepted the resignation with effect from 01-10-2017 to allow him to take on the role of Sadara CEO. Additionally, Mr. Warren Wilder has submitted his resignation from his position on the Board of Directors on 31-08-2017, and the Board of Directors on 16-11-2017 has accepted the resignation with effect from 01-09-2017 to allow him to pursue different responsibilities. Moreover the Board of Directors on 01-11-2017 accepted the appointments of Mr. Mohammad Al-Shammari and Mr. Ziad Al-Murshed as Board Members (Non-Executive) with effect from 01-11-2017.
Mr. Al-Shammari joined Saudi Aramco in 1981 and has worked in a variety of entrepreneurial and leadership capacities. He is currently the acting executive director of Saudi Aramco Chemicals and has been named as the CEO of the Aramco Chemicals Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco formed in 2017. Mr. Shammari holds a Bachelor degree in civil engineering from KFUPM and a Master degree in construction engineering management from Oregon State University. He also completed the executive management program at Harvard Business School.
Mr. Ziad Al-Murshed joined Saudi Aramco in 1991 and is currently the executive director of New Business Development at Saudi Aramco, responsible for Saudi Aramco new business development, including origination, transaction development, the Saudi Aramco Entrepreneurship Center (Waed), and corporate venturing through Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures. Prior to that, he was the general manager and head of transaction development within New Business Development, responsible for executing joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, as well as third-party and other transactions.
Mr. Al-Murshed holds a Bachelor degree in chemical engineering from Arizona State University, and an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a graduate of the general management program at the Harvard Business School.
