CIB boosts EGX higher early Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session in the green zone, bolstered by local and Arab buying.

By 10:18 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.63% or 85.88 points to the level of 13,766.18 points on the back of the rising heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB).

The CIB rose 1.05% to EGP 74.3, with a turnover of EGP 3.7 million.

The EGX70 index added 0.43% to 754.06 points, while the EGX100 index inched up 0.4% to 1,712.26 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index gained 0.58% to 2,395 points.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 7.2 million, while Egyptian and Aran investors were net buyers with EGP 4.8 million and EGP 2.3 million, respectively.

Trading volume reached about 20.03 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 45.7 million through 1,800 transactions.
