Cairo – Mubasher: Orascom Construction has signed a total of $1.54 billion contracts across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the U.S. during the first nine months of 2017, board member Osama Bishai said.

Following the addition of Besix’s stake, Orascom Construction’s projects totalled $2.5 billion in 9M-17.

Contracts worth a total of $788.7 million were signed in the third quarter of fiscal year 2017, in addition to sealing deals worth $747.3 million in the first half of 2017, Bishai said, according to a bourse statement issued on Tuesday.

Orascom Construction has played a good role in developing infrastructure in new cities across Egypt, the board member noted.

Projects under execution were valued at $4.8 billion in Q3-17; however, the projects were worth a total of $6.7 billion after adding 50% of Besix’s share.
