Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday up after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) jumped 0.65% or 44 points, reaching 6,822.45 points.
TASI on Wednesday saw trading of 132 million shares, through 75,700 transactions, generating SAR 2.6 billion.
The utilities sector increased 2.4%, followed by energy with 2.3%, materials with 0.62%, banks with 0.22%, and telecommunication services with 0.17%.
On the flipside, the commercial and professional services, and food and staples retailing sectors decreased 2.03%, and 0.88%, respectively.
Alujain Corp.’s stock topped TASI’s gainers after surging 10%, closing Wednesday at SAR 19.04, whereas Tihama Advertising and Public Relations’ stock tumbled 3.2%, reaching SAR 37.95.
In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market plunged 1.3% or 38.5 points to reach 2,908.1 points.
Nomu’s trading volume stood at 85,000 shares on Wednesday, against 44,000 shares on Tuesday, while liquidity rose to SAR 1.3 billion, from SAR 668,000.
Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries’ stock fell 4.2% to reach SAR 2.2, whereas the stocks of Al-Omran Industrial Trading, and Arab Sea Information System went up 3.5%, and 2%, respectively.
