Blue chips push EGX30 above 13,800 pts Wednesday
market cap gains EGP 9.6 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session up, bolstered by Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.83% or 113.92 points to the level of 13,839.37 points.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 777.6 billion, gaining EGP 9.6 billion.

Blue chips saw a bullish wave, topped by Eastern Co, Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima), and HADISOLB which rose 9.7%, 8.53%, and 6.73%, respectively.

On the other hand, Alexandria Mineral Oils Co (AMOC), down 0.08%, was the only declining stock.

The EGX70 index levelled up 1.41% to 761.37 points, while the EGX100 index grew 1.81% to 1,738.79 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 1.19% to 2,420 points.

Trading volume stood at 235.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 997.7 million through 28,680 transactions.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 13.07 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 489,700 and EGP 12.5 million.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) was stable at EGP 73.3, with a turnover of EGP 56.02 million.
