Boursa Kuwait declines in week amid lower liquidity
Liquidity shrank by 19% to KWD 57.15 million in week

Mubasher: The benchmark index of Boursa Kuwait retreated 1.11% or 70 points to reach 6,239.37 points by the week ended on 23 November compared to 6,309.31 points by the week ended on 16 November.

The weighted index declined by 1.73% or 7 points to close the week at 395.99 points, and the Kuwait-15 index retreated 2.13% or 19.7 points to 906.27 points.

A state of anticipation and caution has been recently witnessed in the Gulf stock markets in general, and at Boursa Kuwait in specific, capital market analyst Ibrahim Al Filkawy told Mubasher.

Despite the positive performance of the last session of this week, Boursa Kuwait was not able to make up its losses, the analyst added

Over this week, liquidity shrank by 19% to KWD 57.15 million compared to KWD 70.57 million in the previous week.

The trading volume decreased by 29.3% to 281.13 million shares from 397.46 million, after transactions declined by 21.7% to about 14,010 from around 17,890 a week ago.
