Dubai – Mubasher: A survey made by Bayt.com in collaboration with YouGov under the name of “Entrepreneurship in Middle East and North Africa (MENA)” found that around 55% of the UAE’s residents prefer to be self-employed.
Meanwhile, around 78% of people working in the UAE are currently thinking of starting their own business or have already tried, the survey added.
The UAE is a big supporter of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
As for the reasons behind starting their own business, 49% of the survey's respondents in the UAE said that this bolsters their sense of achievement, while 86% agreed that entrepreneurship plays a major role in job creation, Bayt.com added.
