Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Wednesday’s session in the green. The price index went up 0.65%, or 40.3 points, to 40.3 points, while the weighted index gained 0.56%, and the Kuwait-15 index added 0.72%.
The benchmark price index will rise once it remains above 6,225 points to reach 6,400 points, while breaking the level 6,100 points will drag the index to a negative performance, capital market analyst Ibrahim Al Filkawy told Mubasher.
The industrial segment topped six gainers with 1.8%, backed by Human Soft which rose by 5.44%.
Telecom companies added 1.62% in line with the rise of Viva, Zain, and Ooredoo with 3.23%, 0.46%, and 0.38%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the insurance sector led four decliners with 1.7%, dragged by First Takaful and Gulf Insurance which dropped 12.5% and 0.3%, respectively.
On Wednesday, Boursa Kuwait’s trading value shrank by 11.1% to KWD 7.07 million compared to KWD 7.95 million on Tuesday after the trading volume decreased by 15% to 57.75 million shares from 67.9 million.
Zain posted the highest liquidity of KWD 1.02 million, up 0.46%.
Ithmaar was the most active stock on which 8.23 million shares were exchanged, falling 9.84%.
