Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Dana Gas announced on Monday that the English Court of Appeal has refused Dana Gas' request to appeal against its order to join BlackRock the English court proceedings and to proceed with the trial in Dana Gas' absence.

Sharjah Court of Appeal cancelled the English court’s judgment, according to a statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).

"The company is proceeding with an English Court application under Civil Procedure Rule 39.3 ("CPR 39.3 Application") to set aside the English High Court Judgement dated 17 November 2017, on the grounds that the Company was unable to represent itself in Court owing to the continuance of a mandatory injunction", according to the United Arab Emirates energy producer’s statement.

Moreover, in case the English court rejected to set aside its judgment, the company will submit an application to the court to appeal the judgment issued on 17 November 2017, Dana stated.

Dana will take steps towards speeding up reviewing the case by the UAE's courts, the company noted.

The company hopes that the Trustee, the Delegate, Blackrock and all the other parties will now properly participate to expedite the hearing of the Sharjah proceedings in the interest of all concerned parties.
