Mubasher: Oil prices rose on Thursday to their highest levels since 2015 after data on Wednesday showed a decline in US crude inventories.
Earlier in the day, Nymex crude futures, for February delivery, grew 0.1% to $59.68 per barrel, while Brent crude futures inched up less than 0.1% to $66.45 per barrel, approaching their two-year highs.
This comes after the American Petroleum Institute reported that US crude stockpiles decreased by 6 million barrels for the week ended 22 December.
By 12:20 pm GMT, Nymex crude futures stood at $59.58, while Brent crude stabilised at $66.37.
