Expatriates’ remittances hit SAR 194bn in 11M – SAMA
Expatriates’ remittances inched down 0.75%, reaching SAR 12.02 billion in November 2017

Riyadh – Mubasher: Remittances of expatriates in Saudi Arabia amounted to SAR 194 billion during the first eleven months of 2017, while remittances of Saudi citizens hit SAR 59.2 billion, the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) said on Thursday.

Expatriates’ remittances inched down 0.75%, reaching SAR 12.02 billion in November 2017, compared to SAR 12.1 billion in the same period a year earlier, the SAMA added.

The Saudi citizens’ remittances rose to SAR 7.9 billion in November.

As of next Monday, the Kingdom’s Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) will start raising fees from SAR 300 to SAR 400 on expatriates who are working in the private sector.
