Mubasher: Eurozone retail sales increased significantly in November, exceeding analyst expectations, according to Eurostat data released Monday.
Sales grew by 1.5% in November versus a decline of 1.1% in October, beating economists’ forecasts of a 1.4% rise, the data showed.
On an annual basis, retail sales increased by 2.8% in November, after a 0.2% gain in the previous month.
Non-food product sales jumped 2.3% and topped the sectors that led the overall growth.
By 11:04 am GMT, the euro declined 0.19% against the US dollar to $1.2006.
