France trade deficit grows in November

Mubasher: France’s trade balance deficit widened unexpectedly in November but remained within the normal range seen since 2012.

November’s deficit reached EUR 5.7 billion, up from EUR 5.3 billion in October, data released by the French government on Tuesday showed.

These figures were attributed to the sharp decline in France’s exports of energy products and transport equipment.

Current-account deficit also increased in November to EUR 3.3 billion from EUR 2.6 billion in October, the Bank of France said Tuesday.

By 08:47 am GMT, the EUR/USD pair decreased by 0.23% to $1.1940.
