Mubasher: Gold has outperformed the majority of assets since the US Federal Reserve decision in December to raise interest rates, for the third time in 2017.

The precious metal gains have even exceeded that of the biggest digital currency “Bitcoin”, according to a recent report by Bloomberg.

“Since the December hike, gold is beating stocks, the dollar and bitcoin,” according to Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Mike McGlone.

McGlone noted that unless the USD recovers from its current weakness, gold will continue to make more gains.

Since 12 December, golf futures rose 5.7%, while the S&P 500 Index rose 3.1%.

On the other hand, the US dollar declined 1.5%, while bitcoin dropped 14%.
