Airbus eyes raising airplanes production in China

Mubasher: Airbus on Tuesday signed an agreement with Chinese partners to increase A320 aircraft production in China.

The France-based giant plane maker intends to raise its output to five A320 jets per month by 2019 and six jets per month by 2020 at its final assembly plant near Beijing.

This agreement comes as a part of Airbus’ plan to reinforce correlations between France and China, which French president Emanuel Macron stressed on in terms of importance during his three-day visit to China.

Airbus also promised to "enhance its industrial partnership in Tianjin" where 354 units of the A320 have been assembled between 2008 and the end of 2017.

Macron further called for France and China being open to conducting business with each other. "We need a coordinated European approach... that gives China more visibility about our agenda," the French President added.
