S. Korea, China, Japan collaborate on cryptocurrency regulations

Mubasher: South Korea is reportedly seeking more cooperation with Japan and China on regulating the cryptocurrency market.

Officials from the three countries recently held a meeting in Seoul, where they exchanged ideas on new cryptocurrency rules, according to the chairman of the South Korean Financial Services Commission (FSC) Choi Jong-ku.

The FSC chairman noted that the aim is to set up detailed systems of cooperation with China and Japan.

He also warned the general public against what he considers an irrational trend of investing in digital currencies, noting that the fever of speculative investment in cryptocurrencies is ongoing.
