KSA establishes 1st project of SSSP
The project consists of six storage tanks with 167,000 cubic metres

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) and National Water Company’s (NWC) chairman Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadhli on Thursday launched the first project of Saudi Strategic Storage Program (SSSP).

The project is located in north of Riyadh.

This project boosts the plans of the Saudi government to achieve water security for the citizens, which is part of National Transformation Programe 2020, said Mohammed Ahmad Mowkley, the deputy minister for water services in MEWA.

The project consists of six storage tanks with 167,000 cubic metres, while the project’s total capacity is 1 million cubic metres, and its value exceeded SAR 381 million.

There are another Strategic Storage Program projects in three regions in Riyadh with 1 million cubic metres capacity and they will cost about SAR 1.6 billion.
