Riyadh – Mubasher: Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is holding negotiations with the Saudi government to reach a settlement after accusing him of corruption, an official on Sunday said.

“He offered a certain figure but it doesn’t meet the figure required from him, and until today the attorney-general hasn’t approved it,” the official said on condition of anonymity under government briefing rules,” Reuters reported, citing the official as saying.

Bin Talal presented an offer to the authorities to make a donation that will lead him to avoid sanctions, but the government refused, second informed sources indicated.

By the end of December 2017, informed sources said that the government asked bin Talal to pay not less than $6 billion to be released.

The Saudi prince owns 95% stake in Kingdom Holding Company (KHC).

In November, the Kingdom arrested some former, current ministers, businessmen, and princes accusing them of corruption.
