Egypt earmarks EGP 2.3bn for New Administrative Capital – Minister
A sports city in the New Administrative Capital will be built at EGP 2.28 billion investments

Cairo – Mubasher: A sports city in the New Administrative Capital will be built at EGP 2.28 billion investments, said minister of youth and sports Khalid Abdelaziz.

Speaking during the opening ceremony of a number of developmental projects in Sadat City on Monday, the minister further revealed that the Cairo Stadium’s Indoor Hall has been upgraded at a total cost of EGP 216 million.

Meanwhile, the Gezira Youth Centre has seen developments at EGP 380 million, the minister said.

Abdulaziz added that around 3,000 sports courts in youth centres have been developed across the country.

Egypt President Abdelfattah El-Sisi said previously that the government was looking to complete the first phase of the New Administrative Capital by 2018, whereas the remaining stages should be completed over the next five to six years.

The development of the New Administrative Capital has been divided into three stages, with the first spanning 40,000 acres.
