Mubasher: American industrial production went up by 0.9% in December, according to the data of the US Federal Reserve.

The industrial production was supported by a surge in utility output, which rose 5.6%, while manufacturing output edged up 0.1%, and mining rising 1.6%.

American industry was running at 77.9% of capacity last month, the highest since February 2015.

Overall industrial production, including manufacturing, mining, and utilities, increased by rose 3.6%.
