EGX30 closes Thursday on new record high

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s session on a rise, supported by foreign investors’ purchases.

The benchmark index EGX30 maintained its gains from earlier today, as it gained 221.46 points, and closed at an all-time high of 15,411 points.

Commercial International Bank (CIB), the stock with the biggest weight in the main index, went up 2.35% to EGP 79.12.

Meanwhile, the market capital increased by EGP 8.5 billion, and closed at EGP 861.8 billion.

The small and medium enterprises index EGX70 added 0.56%, and closed at 855.06 points, while the broader index EGX100 rose 0.88% to 2,037 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 was up 1.12%, closing the session at 2,744 points.

Traded volumes totalled 404.12 million shares, with a total turnover of EGP 1.6 billion, thorugh around 38,600 transactions.

Foreign investors were inclined towards buying with a net EGP 158.8 million, while Arab and Egyptian investors were net sellers at EGP 35.18 million, and EGP 123.6 million, respectively.
