QSE down at Sunday's close on goods, banking stocks
The general index declined 0.59%, or 54.66 points, to 9,145.44 points.

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Sunday in the red, dragged down by the fall of six sectors amid low liquidity.

The general index declined 0.59%, or 54.66 points, to 9,145.44 points.

The QSE’s liquidity decreased to QAR 203.47 million on Sunday from QAR 886.02 million on Thursday, while the trading volume inched up to 11.87 million shares against 11.15 million in the previous session.

The goods and services sector topped the six losers falling 0.99% after Medicare Group declined 5.83%.

Similarly, the banking sector went down 0.97% on the back of industries Qatar Oman Investment and Qatar National Bank (QNB) which dropped 3.62% and 1.37%, respectively.

The industrial sector went down 0.33% as Qatar Industrial Manufacturing lost 2.82%.

On the flipside, the transportation sector was the only gainer adding 0.99% after Qatar Navigation and Qatar Gas Transport’s stocks rose 1.57% and 1.02%, respectively.

Qatar First Bank's stock was the most active in terms of value and volume, generating QAR 36.7 million after 5.1 million shares changed hands.
