Cairo - Mubasher: MasterCard is in talks with the Egyptian government and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to introduce electronic payments to gas stations across the country.

Non-cash transactions in the Egyptian market are still between 2% and 3%, according to the company’s division president for Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Khalid El-Gibali.

This is why Mastercard believes this is a very low percentage, considering Egypt’s potentials and population growth, El-Gibali added during his remarks to the Seamless Payments Middle East 2018 exhibition in Dubai.
