Mubasher: The President of the United States Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would welcome a federal government shutdown if Congress did not pass a new immigration law

“If we don’t change the legislation, if we don’t get rid of these loopholes where killers are allowed to come into our country and continue to kill ... if we don’t change it, let’s have a shutdown.”

“I’d love to see a shutdown if we don’t get this stuff taken care of,” Trump was quoted by Reuters.

Lawmakers in the US Congress are working to reach a deal to fund the government, before Thursday’s midnight, where the current funding bill for the government expires.

Democrats and Republicans in Congress are disagreeing over immigration reforms, as the republicans seek to increase spending on boarder security, while the democrats are focused on maintaining the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
