Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Emirates Telecommunications Group’s (Etisalat) total expenses of recruiting and training programmes for Emirati people exceeded AED 100 million over the last three years, Al Khaleej newspaper reported, citing vice president of talent management at Etisalat Ahmad Al-Doobi.

The number of Emirati people working in the UAE-based telecoms operator surpassed 2,200 citizens, including 744 females, Al-Doobi highlighted on the sidelines of the 20th Sharjah National Career Exhibition inaugurated yesterday by Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi.

Local members of the company’s top management represented more than 72%, he added, pointing out that the number of Emirati workers exceeded 47% in general.

The number of citizens working at the firm's sales and business departments reached 750 people, he mentioned, adding that more than 905 citizens are working in IT, about 53% of total technicians in the company.

Emirati female employees amounted to 744 in Etisalat, which is one of the highest rates of specific nationalisation in the UAE’s commercial sector, he said.
