Mubasher: Qatar Petroleum on Wednesday announced its new strategy and growth plans, which include bolstering its production of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The newly-announced corporate strategy and core values are designed to firmly position the Qatari company “on the road to realising its vision to become one of the best national oil and gas companies, with roots in Qatar and a strong international presence,” Qatar Petroleum said in a statement.

Under the new strategy, Qatar Petroleum will expand in its production from the North Field, which in turn will increase Qatar’s production of LNG to 100 million tonnes per year from its current level of 77 million tonnes per year.

“Qatar Petroleum’s footprint [has recently expanded] to include promising offshore areas spanning Latin America, Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East,” the statement showed.

“The new strategy and values come at a critical time in our expansion, and will ensure that we continue to be a  global LNG leader. Therefore, we should all be willing and prepared to embrace and lead change to ensure success,” stated Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, QP President & CEO, during a three-day event held at the company’s headquarters.
