France’s Engie to provide 3 LNG cargoes for Egypt in Q2-18
Zohr's gas output is expected to reach 1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) by the first half of 2018

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has agreed with Engie, the France-based natural gas and electricity supplier, on receiving three cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the second quarter of 2018, two sources at Egypt's state-run company said.

In January, EGAS had arranged the reception of five cargoes of LNG during Q2-18, sources added.

On 1 December 2017, Egypt’s petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla announced the beginning of pumping natural gas production from supergiant Zohr gas field, the largest gas discovery ever made in the Mediterranean, into Port Said's gas treatment plant.

Holding an estimated 30 trillion cubic feet of gas, Zohr's gas output is expected to reach 1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) by the first half of 2018, rising to  2.7 Bcf/d upon the completion of the field's development by the end of 2019.
