Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Monday’s trading session with a mixed performance, while the benchmark index registered its third decline in a row.
The main price index retreated by 0.15% or 10 points to close at 6,711.04 points.
Meanwhile, the weighted index gained 0.14% or 0.6 points to 408.14 points, and the Kuwait-15 index added 0.25% or 2.4 points to 942.01 points.
The banking segment topped seven gainers with 0.5%, backed by Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) which rose by 4.5%.
Meanwhile, the financial services sector led five gainers with 1.22%, dragged by Tamdeen Investment which grew 16.8%.
United Projects Company for Aviation Services (UPAC) was the top winner with a gain of 19.25%.
Burgan Drilling led losers with 20%, despite disclosing a growth in its profits to KWD 1.74 million.
Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity increased by 24.3% to KWD 12.49 million on Monday compared to KWD 10.05 million in the previous session after the trading volume decreased by 6.6% to 63.98 million shares from 68.48 million.
The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) posted the highest liquidity of KWD 3 million. The stock gained 0.39%.
Rising 1.23%, Ithmaar was the most active stock on which 10.4 million shares were traded.
