Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Tuesday’s trading session with a mixed performance; the benchmark price index went down 0.45% or 30.5 points to 6,680.52 points.

The weighted index edged down 0.03% or 0.14 points to close at 408 points, while the Kuwait-15 index gained 0.09% or 0.86 points to 942.87 points.

The ongoing mixed performance for the second day in a row is expected to be followed by a downward trend, capital market analyst Badar Al Badr told Mubasher.

The price index will target the support level at 6,630 points in line with a state of volatility, the analyst added.

Insurance companies led five decliners with 2.7%, while the telecom sector topped five gainers with 0.7%.

Wethaq was the top loser with a fall of 17.95%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 27.7% to KWD 9.03 million on Tuesday from KWD 12.49 million in the previous session after the trading volume grew to 64.53 million shares from 63.98 million.

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) posted the highest trading value of KWD 1.07 million, closing at 763 fils.

National Shooting was the most active stock on which 8.7 million shares were exchanged.
