Qatar to participate in 2018 Arab Summit - Minister
Qatar will not exit the GCC.

Mubasher: Qatar will take part in the upcoming Arab Summit regardless of its venue, Doha's foreign minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said.

Qatar will not exit the GCC, Al Thani added during his speech at the Consultative Assembly.

Any dialogue with the siege countries will not be at the expense of Qatar's sovereignty, the foreign minister stressed, highlighting the need to have basic principles for any dialogue that would be shielded by a clear mechanism to settle conflicts.

In June 2017, four Arab countries- Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and UAE- cut their diplomatic and trade ties with the world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), accusing it of supporting terrorism, the charge that Doha forcefully denied.

In March 2017, Saudi Arabia revealed that it would host the 29th Arab Summit that will take place in March 2018 instead of the UAE.
