Dubai – Mubasher: Budget carrier flydubai posted a 17% increase in net profit during the full-year 2017, registering AED 37.3 million, compared to AED 31.6 million a year earlier.

The UAE-based carrier’s revenue grew 9.2% to AED 5.5 billion from AED 5 billion, according to a company statement. 

“Despite the socio-economic environment we have seen across our network, we have record numbers of passengers travelling with us as well as sustained growth in our revenue,” Flydubai’s CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said.  

Passengers’ number rose 5.5% year-on-year to 10.9 million in the last four quarters, flydubai’s data showed.

“Demonstrate the key role that flydubai continues to play in the development of trade and tourism in the UAE,” flydubai’s chairman Sheikh Ahmed concluded.
