Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) will issue treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 2.25 billion on Monday in coordination with the Ministry of Finance (MOF) to finance the budget deficit.

The first tranche of T-bonds will be offered through five-year notes at EGP1.25 billion, while the second offering will be through 10-year notes at EGP 1 billion, according to the CBE’s official website.

Egyptian debt instruments are attracting a large number of foreign investors, especially T-bills, as bond yields rose.

The MOF had previously posted that issuance of T-bonds and bills rose 51% year-on-year during the second quarter of fiscal year 2017/2018.
