Riyadh – Mubasher: Riyadh-based Saudi Specialized Products Co. (Wahaj) on Wednesday has signed a cooperation agreement with US Lockheed Martin to co-manufacture the Air Foil Group (tailkits) for Paveway II Plus Laser Guided Bombs (LGBs) in Saudi Arabia. 

Wahaj is a subsidiary of Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem).

Signed on the sidelines of the Armed Forces Exhibition for Diversity of Requirements and Capabilities (AFED) 2018 which is held currently in Riyadh, the deal is part of transferring this technology to Saudi Arabia in an effort to implement Saudisation into military industries, according to Wahaj's statement.

Upon the complete operation of the project, Saudisation is expected to exceed 70% in it, said Lockheed Martin CEO in Saudi ArabiaAlan Chinoda, the statement added, giving no further details on the value of the project.
