Dubai to unveil $60,000 gold-plated baby crib at INDEX

Mubasher: Spoiling your newborn is limitless, especially when it comes to choosing the most comfortable and elegant crib.

Proud parents are always more than willing to pamper the apple of their eye with the best that money can purchase. Being well-known for creating customised luxury goods, Dubai will unveil a new trend that has extended to baby-related items and supplies.

The UAE is expected to reveal the world’s most expensive and luxurious baby crib for the INDEX interior design exhibition in Dubai, which kicks off from 26 to 29 March 2018.

This crib, the Luulu bed, will be on sale for AED 220,000 ($60,000), and what makes it special is the 24-karat gold plating, according to manufacturers who are a team of yacht builders.

The crib is lined with Swarovski diamond-encrusted quilting.

The Luulu bed is more expensive than a full year’s rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Burj Khalifa.

A waiting list is forecast to be created for families willing to welcome their newborns into the lap of luxury.

“The baby bed has been designed to mimic the feel of being in the womb, while offering parents a chic, high-end piece of furniture to add to their home,” said Polish designers Marta Buzalska and Darius Panczyk.
