Riyadh –Mubasher: The Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP) on Wednesday announced its participation in the Iraq Petroleum Conference 2018, launched in Berlin on 27 February.

The 12th edition of the two-day conference aims to boost Iraq’s oil sector via joining forces with the international energy firms.

“With over 100 billion dollars being invested in Iraq over the next few years, we’re very excited to be a part of an event that promotes business in the country and propels its position as the next big oil and gas market,”, APICORP CEO Ahmed Ali Attiga said.

Iraq, OPEC's second-largest crude oil producer, is a member country of APICORP.

The kingdom-based multilateral development bank is in talks with Iraq to explore opportunities to support and finance key investments in the Iraqi energy sector with public and private sector sponsors, APICORP said in a statement.

Capitalising on long-standing relationship with Iraq and its several large-scale projects in the country prior to 1991, APICORP seeks to take part in rebuilding the energy infrastructure of the OPEC member, the statement concluded.
